Poker Room Indictments - After The Dust Has Settled

It’s been slightly more than a week now since some of the biggest providers of online poker in the world were targeted as part of an investigation into fraud relating to the methods used to accept deposits from customers.

The good news for poker fans is that these legal actions don’t seem to have extinguished the

battle for reform of online gaming in the U.S. In fact it would appear that, with these companies out of the way, opportunities have arisen for other providers to step in fill the partnership opportunities vacated. William Hill is one such Online Casino and along with 888 Holdings among others, they have already seen their share prices rise as new possibilities open up across the Atlantic.

Interestingly, if this was an attempt at protectionism by the U.S. government and the bricks and mortar casino lobby, it has spectacularly backfired - the new partnerships will almost certainly involve European based poker providers such as Europa Casino.

An added piece of good news for poker players was that the Black Jack Casinos involved in the legal action managed to reclaim their confiscated domains, enabling U.S. players to cash out any money they may have had deposited (by legal means, one assumes).
